Recruitment Overview — CEN 06/2025
Graduate Level Posts (5,810 Vacancies)
Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Traffic Assistant, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Senior Time Keeper, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor
Undergraduate Level Posts (3,058 Vacancies)
Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk
Graduate and Undergraduate CBT exams are conducted separately on different schedules — verify which level you applied for, as the admit card process and regional login apply to your specific level and notification.
Two-Stage Pre-Exam Communication
Before the admit card releases, RRB sends two documents:
City Intimation Slip (approximately 8–10 days before exam date): Tells you which city your exam centre is in — not the exact address. Use it immediately to plan travel and accommodation. For the March 2026 Graduate CBT 1, city slips were released March 7–8, 2026 for a March 16 start.rrbcdg.gov+1
Admit Card / E-Call Letter (4 days before your specific exam date): Contains the complete centre address, exact reporting time, gate closure time, roll number, and all exam-day instructions. This is the mandatory document for exam hall entry — the city slip cannot substitute for it.pw+1
Both documents are available from the same login on rrbapply.gov.in and your regional RRB website.
Step-by-Step: How to Download RRB NTPC Admit Card
RRB NTPC admit cards are available on two portals — use whichever loads faster.
Method 1 — Central Portal: rrbapply.gov.in (Works for All Regions)

Method 2 — Regional RRB Website (Faster During Peak Hours)
Steps are identical — visit your specific RRB region’s website, click the NTPC Admit Card/CEN 06/2025 link, log in with Registration Number and Date of Birth, download and print.
Important: You must use the website of the RRB region you applied under — or the central portal rrbapply.gov.in. Attempting to log in on a different region’s portal will return “Registration Not Found.”
Region-wise RRB Official Websites — Complete List
For UP aspirants: Most apply under RRB Allahabad (Prayagraj) — rrbald.gov.in — or RRB Gorakhpur. Confirm by checking the region selected in your application form.
For Bihar aspirants: RRB Patna (rrbpatna.gov.in) or RRB Muzaffarpur (rrbmuzaffarpur.gov.in).
Regional websites load significantly faster than rrbapply.gov.in during peak admit card download hours — when hundreds of thousands of candidates are simultaneously accessing the system.sarkariresult+1
How to Recover Forgotten Registration Number
Method 1 — Name and Date of Birth
Visit rrbapply.gov.in or your regional RRB website → click “Forgot Registration Number” → select “Search by Name and Date of Birth” → enter First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Gender → your Registration Number displays on screen.
Method 2 — Registered Email
Click “Forgot Registration Number” → select “Search by Email ID” → enter your registered email address and Date of Birth → your Registration Number is sent to that email.
Method 3 — Check Your Application SMS / Email
When you successfully submitted your RRB NTPC application in October–November 2025, an SMS and email confirmation was sent with your Registration Number. Search your SMS inbox for messages from “RRBNTPC” or your email for messages from rrbapply.gov.in.
Method 4 — Regional RRB Helpdesk
If all self-service methods fail (changed email, name mismatch): email your regional RRB helpdesk with full name as submitted in application, father’s name, date of birth, registered mobile number, and scanned copy of Aadhaar.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam Pattern — Quick Reference
Minimum qualifying marks: General/EWS — 40% | OBC — 30% | SC — 30% | ST — 25%
Exam Day Reporting Time and Gate Rules
RRB NTPC CBT 1 is typically conducted in two shifts. Your specific reporting time is printed on your admit card — follow that time, not the generic schedule below:careerpower+1
Gate closure is absolute. No entry permitted after gate closure — for any reason, under any circumstances.
Why arriving early matters: The entry process at RRB CBT centres involves physical frisking and metal detector check at the outer gate, document verification (admit card and photo ID check), biometric/photo matching, finding your assigned computer terminal, and reading on-screen instructions and completing pre-test formalities. At large centres with 200–500 candidates, this process can take 60–90 minutes. Arriving 30 minutes before gate closure means you will be rushed, stressed, and likely late.
Recommended: Arrive at the centre at least 90 minutes before the exam start time, and visit the centre location one day before to confirm the exact building and route.
What to Carry to the RRB NTPC Exam Hall
Approved Photo IDs (original only — no photocopies, no mobile screen display):
Aadhaar Card (most preferred — enables biometric backup at CBT centres), e-Aadhaar (UIDAI download), Voter ID, Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card, School/College Photo ID, Government Employee ID, Bank Passbook with photograph
Also permitted inside the hall:
-
Transparent, colourless water bottle
-
Prescription medicine (declare to invigilator on arrival; carry the doctor’s prescription)
-
Spectacles if required for vision
-
Simple analogue wristwatch (no digital display, no smart features)
Strictly Prohibited Items — Zero Tolerance
Carrying any prohibited item — even unintentionally — results in immediate disqualification and may result in a ban from future Railway examinations:
Electronic devices: Mobile phones (including switched-off phones), smartwatches, digital watches, Bluetooth earphones or earbuds, calculators, tablets, laptops, pen drives, pagers, wireless transmitters
Physical items: Books, notes, printed study material, handwritten chits, pencil box, scale, compass, eraser, correction fluid, bags or backpacks of any size, food items, heavy jewellery or metallic accessories, caps, hats, tinted eyewear, wallet containing papers or chits
Practical note: Most RRB CBT centres do not have cloakroom or deposit facilities for mobile phones or bags. Leave all prohibited items at home — not in your vehicle parked outside, not “just outside the gate.”
Exam Day Do’s and Don’ts
Do’s:
-
Visit the exam centre location one day before to confirm the exact building, floor, and route
-
Carry the printed admit card in a transparent folder — not folded or crumpled
-
Print at least two copies — one for entry, one as backup
-
Read all on-screen instructions before beginning — do not rush into the first question
-
Use the “Mark for Review” feature for questions you want to revisit
-
Attempt at a pace of no more than 54 seconds per question on average (100 questions in 90 minutes)
Don’ts:
-
Do not bring your mobile phone to the centre — even to leave it outside. The risk of accidentally carrying it past the gate is not worth it
-
Do not guess randomly on all uncertain questions — 1/3 negative marking applies; skip if you have no basis for elimination
-
Do not share exam question content on social media during the exam window — RRB enforces strict rules against this
-
Do not leave your seat without informing the invigilator
-
Do not submit before time — use remaining time to review all “Marked for Review” questions
Full Selection Process After CBT 1
On CBT 1 vs CBT 2: CBT 1 shortlists candidates (typically 20 times vacancies) for CBT 2. CBT 2 marks form the merit list. CBT 1 marks do not directly contribute to final selection rank.
